A Bopoma Villages Success Story (about 2 years ago)

Back in 2014, a tragic situation was brought to the attention of the Bopoma Villages team. A single mother of three had passed away unfortunately leaving her children on their own. With the eldest child being only 12 years old, a difficult situation had become much worse.

Bopoma Villages stepped in and was able to assist these recently orphaned children immensely. A social worker was brought in to counsel the children, basic essentials were provided, a community volunteer committed to supporting the children and the Bopoma Villages team, with the help of some local villagers, built two “keyhole” gardens to provide a lasting supply of food.

In April 2016, Kutoa members voted for that month’s donations to go towards providing more of these keyhole gardens throughout Zimbabwe. With $604 donated, Kutoa has raised enough money to have 24 keyhole gardens built!
