MSF No Longer Taking Funding From European Union (almost 2 years ago)

On June 17th, 2016, Doctors Without Borders announced they would no longer be taking funding from the EU. Their reasoning for this is the EU’s “damaging deterrence policies and intensifying attempts to push people and their suffering away from European shores.” MSF believes the EU is not focused on helping those in need but instead what they want is to keep those suffering away from Europe. This decision will take effect immediately and applies to all of the organization’s projects worldwide.
