Situation Getting Worse (over 1 year ago)

D5on3forlgkvs2a7yyj0

Just one week ago, famine was declared in parts of South Sudan. Men, women, and children are dying of hunger, and the lives of 100,000 people are at stake. If hungry families aren't reached soon with urgently needed and lifesaving food, many more people will die.

WFP teams are on the ground, working around the clock to deliver food to those in dire need -- like the mother and her young child in the photo above. WFP is working in the worst affected counties in South Sudan, serving more than 180,000 people -- and WFP is launching another emergency food distribution for 66,000.
