BBCF Response to COVID-19
In Bangladesh the government has declared a countrywide work stoppage to control people's movements and encourage social distancing. They have banned transportation like buses, trains, flights and taxis, and the military are patrolling the streets. Hospitals and doctors are helpless due to lack of Personal Protective Equipment and testing kits for the public. Many people in the country are suffering with symptoms but are not going to the hospitals due to fear of isolation and social stigma. BBCF is doing their part in helping their communities by providing a number of awareness programs, distributing information, and installing hand-washing stations. They have also organized a COVID-19 Helpline where six volunteer doctors and two staff receive phone calls from the public to advise them information and tele-prescriptions. BBCF is also now preparing for food relief distribution for the day labourers who do not have a job and our faced with the fear of starvation. We are honored to partner with BBCF as they strive to meet the needs of their communities during this global pandemic. Join Kutoa in supporting BBCF during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our contribution will go toward food relief for day-labourers and the provision of community hand-washing stations.
